hey there!
We are Bea & Marco!
Welcome to our world of delicious food that we call El Mundo Eats. We're self-taught cooks who trade our corporate jobs to pursue our passion for cooking and learning other cultures through food.
We are from Malaysia and Argentina, where we grew up helping in the kitchen and cooking our (very different) traditional foods with our moms.
Discover easy and delicious desserts, bakes, and recipes inspired by Asia and Latin America. All crafted in our sunny Spanish kitchen.
Quick Background About Us
I'm from Malaysia, and Marco is from Argentina. We met online while still at university and have been together ever since. In 2009, we moved to Spain, which naturally sparked our passion for cooking and our desire to reconnect with our origins.
The mix of cultures and traveling through Europe with our motorhome as much as possible have tremendously influenced our food. We could be having Malaysian nasi lemak one day and Argentine empanadas the next!
We have been helping in the kitchen since we were kids, and over the years, we have developed our knowledge and passion for cooking. So, in 2017, we shifted careers from programming and engineering to cooking and videography.
And that's how El Mundo Eats was born. We started with a YouTube channel, with me cooking and Marco filming and editing. Soon after, we launched this blog to share easy and delicious recipes everyone could make in their kitchen.

More About Bea, Marco & the Blog
“El Mundo” means “The world” in Spanish. So, in English, “El Mundo Eats” literally means “The World Eats.”
We are thrilled that you are here and eager to try baking! We recommend trying one of our muffins. They are popular with new bakers, especially our healthy oat banana muffins.
We suggest trying our strawberry cream puffs or Sarawak cake, our favorite Malaysian cake, if you want a challenge.
It definitely should be nasi lemak! It's aromatic rice cooked in coconut milk and so delicious!
